Commissioned by The Bauer Publishing Group the logotype was fully redesigned for Performance Bikes magazine which was currently titled ‘PB’. We developed a brief with the objective of reclaiming the personal attachment that readers once had to the magazine.
Previously, the publication had used an acronym, similar to GQ or FHM, but readers related more fully to the full title. ‘PB’ was lost on the shelf. By talking to buyers of PB at the magazine shelf rack this was easily determined.
Initially, the client thought dropping in a rev counter symbol might be too obvious, but we concluded that it gave the brand identity something memorable.
As well as the magazine, the new design extends across a range of motorbike stickers, t-shirts and banners for special event days.Other projects
